Furnishing a Parkhurst cottage
Task:
The owners wanted the whole ground floor to read as one room without losing anywhere to put things.

We made:
We worked the palette back to two timbers, French oak for everything upright and walnut for the low pieces, so the eye reads height rather than colour as you move through.
Storage was buried in the joinery. A fluted oak credenza runs the length of the dining wall, and the media unit hangs so the floor stays unbroken from the front door to the stoep.

Tina MaroEvery piece fits the plan exactly, and the joinery makes the cottage feel like it was always this way.
Creating your
idea
Bring a wall measurement, a photograph or a rough sketch. We draw the piece with you at the sample table and you sign off a scale drawing before a board is cut.
Everything in the collection is started when you order it. Choose the timber, the length and the finish, and we will give you an honest date, usually eight weeks.
We re-oil, repair and re-joint solid wood furniture, ours or anyone else's. Rings, dents and water marks come out of an oiled surface, nothing is laminated so nothing peels.
Linen, stoneware, rugs and lighting chosen against the timber you have picked, so the room lands finished rather than furnished.
Short runs for architects, hotels and restaurants. Same bench, same joints, batched so the grain still matches across a whole floor.
An hour at the sample table with a designer and your floor plan. No charge, no obligation, and you leave with a drawing and a timber picked out.
How we work

You reach out
Tell us about the room, what you are looking for, or which piece caught your eye. We are here to help shape the idea.
We design it
We sketch a concept, choose the boards with you and refine the form until the proportions feel right in your space.
Crafting begins
Your piece is made by hand at the Kramerville bench, with patience, sharp chisels and real attention to the grain.
Delivery & care
Our own crew carries it in, places it and levels it. You keep the care kit and the oil, and we come back if it ever needs us.

Testimonials
From the first sketch to the final delivery the process was calm and professional. The joinery is outstanding and the pieces feel warm rather than showroom perfect.
They furnished the whole apartment beyond what we expected. Every detail was considered and the dining table fits the room to the millimetre.
We needed storage without losing the openness, and they delivered exactly that. The space feels balanced, useful and beautifully finished.
We will furnish the whole house, or make you individual pieces.

Furniture should be built with a purpose. Every project starts with the space, the people who live in it, and the boards we can actually get hold of.

Each detail is settled at the sample table before the first board is cut.

From the first sketch to the last coat of oil, we work for the piece you will still want in twenty years.
