Four steps, in order, every time.
Select
Every board is chosen by hand and matched for grain before a single cut. What does not make the bench becomes trays and boards.
Cut
Rough sawn, then rested. Wood moves when it is cut, so we let it settle for a week before it is milled square.
Join
Dovetails, mortise and tenon, floating tenons on the long spans. Glue helps, but the geometry does the holding.
Finish
Three coats of hardwax oil, rubbed in by hand and burnished. No lacquer, nothing that peels, nothing you cannot repair.
Chosen from the material, not from a chart
Walnut, oak, brass, linen, leather and stone. The brand colours are simply the materials on the bench, which is why nothing in a Timber & Co. room ever argues with anything else.
French Oak
Sustainably felled, quarter sawn
Pale, straight grained and calm. Oak takes oil beautifully and turns a deeper honey with every year of sunlight.

Caring for it is the easy part
Keep it dry
Dust with a dry cloth and keep it out of standing water. Wood forgives almost everything else.
Oil it twice a year
A thin coat of the oil in your care kit, rubbed in with the grain. Twenty minutes, twice a year.
Sand out the accidents
Rings, dents and scratches sand out of oiled timber. Nothing is laminated, so there is nothing to peel.
