Four methods, no gadget worship. Scales help, care helps more.
30 g of coffee, 500 g of water at 94 degrees, four slow pours over three minutes. Rinse the paper first, always. It should taste like the notes on the bag, not like the paper.
Start at 18 g in, 36 g out, in 28 seconds. Adjust grind before anything else. If it is sour, go finer. If it is bitter, go coarser. Fresh beans matter more than the machine.
60 g per litre, coarse grind, four minute steep. Skim the crust, wait another four minutes, then pour gently. Patience is the whole recipe.
100 g of coffee, one litre of cold water, 16 hours in the fridge. Strain twice and keep it for up to a week. Serve over ice with nothing added, then decide if it needs anything.
